The follow up gathering from the Carrs Lane Prayer and Spirituality meeting in September; that there’s a meeting of minds and clear sense of the Lord’s direction as they consider how to support prayer throughout the denomination.

2 Alan Yates as he leads a commissioning service for Dr Alison Gray, new Old Testament lecturer at Westminster College; for God’s anointing upon Alison and equipping for her work at Westminster College.

The New Ministers’ Induction Day today, as four new ministers visit Church House

3 for God’s blessing upon South West Synod;

God’s blessing upon Moderator Alison Whitehead; for fruitfulness form the Synod’s growing partnership with Pioneer Connexion ministers – now have two couples serving as lay leaders in URCs in Dartmouth and Teignmouth

God’s Wisdom for the Synod Pastoral Advisors (SPAs) and the work they do to connect local churches to one another – especially as they seek to co-ordinate education and learning in their areas.

Discernment for Synod as they appoint both a new SPA for Greater Bristol and new Synod Clerk

Clarity for ministers seeking God’s calling in a new way

God’s Holy Spirit to guide churches asking questions about their place in God’s mission in the twenty-first century

4 Samuel Muhumuza who has given thanks for our prayer cover for his visit to the UK in September under the auspices of the Romans One Eleven Trust. Praises God that he had a blessed time of mutual encouragement and returned home safely. However, he has since been in touch with this message: ‘I am fine though it’s unbelievable that up to now we have no rain which is really bad, all crops have died and food is becoming more expensive and people are starving. We need your prayers.’ Please take this very personal call to prayer as a result of climate change very seriously.”

Equipping for Alan Yates as he leads worship at Sherwood URC

7 God’s comfort for East Midland’s Synod Moderator, Peter Meek following the sudden and tragic death of his brother Andy

7-9 the ‘Welcome to the URC’ course at the Windermere Centre, God’s blessing upon the 20 participants, including session leaders

8 God’s hand upon the fast approaching move out of Church House and relocation of staff to different places; his blessing upon the building work, commencing in January 2017 and the disruption that it may well cause for staff and neighbours. That all will have time to prepare well for the office refurbishment and temporary relocation

9 the ‘Walking the Way’ Steering group; enable the group to communicate simply your leading throughout the church.

The evening at Ryde, Isle of Wight aimed at seeking more interest and support from local churches for the town’s youth project led by Becca Overy of YFC and for Lynne Pigeon of the URC who is on the management group.

13-20 the people of all faith backgrounds during interfaith week, May this be a time to celebrate diversity and come together in love and hope to celebrate the significance of faith and the positive contribution that faith communities can make to society.

15 the safeguarding Advisory group meeting. As we give thanks for all those who have contributed to the Past Case Review Process so far prayers for those people who may be nursing a sense of wrong, that they may experience healing

15-17 the Yorkshire Synod, as it offers itself as a Al pilot at the Windermere Centre for ‘Developing AI Practice’ to enable future development at Synod level.

Those involved in the Developing Your Appreciative Inquiry Practice event at the Windermere Centre, for the 19 people taking part, including course leaders

15-28 God’s blessing upon the visit of Bishop Rodwell Chomba – from our Global Link – United Church of Zambia, Lusaka Presbytery

16 for John Proctor as he embarks on a particularly busy time; for inspiration as her leads the North West  Synod ministers’ day today, followed by trips to Ireland and Canada to do business with his counterparts in partner churches.

20 Prayer for the Persecuted Church

for Churches and Christians engaging in activities as a part of Interfaith Week:

Chadwick Mount URC (Liverpool) as they celebrate their 150th anniversary

21 those involved in implementing the URC’s necessary, challenging safeguarding Past Case Review, that may produce some difficult issues to address in the coming months.

22 Ryde URC as they continue their Bible course, using the Bible Society’s latest resource.

22-23 those involved in the Churches Together in Britain and Ireland ‘Called to be One’ conference, Edinburgh

23 students at our Resource Centres for Learning, for God’s equipping as they serve in placements and set learning objectives. Also for the building of relationships that will enable them to work them out in good and fruitful ways.

24 Haiti and all other countries in the Caribbean and surrounding areas that have been greatly affected by the terrible storms that have led to the loss of many lives, livelihoods and homes. Many continue to suffer from lack of food and water and are further inflicted with illnesses.

26 Syria, as there has been an escalation in violence and airstrikes. Hundreds of thousands of children are struggling to survive without food, medicine and clean water. Half the country’s pre-war population — more than 11 million people — have been killed or forced to flee their homes. Families are struggling to survive inside Syria, or make a new home in neighbouring countries. Others are risking their lives on the way to Europe, hoping to find acceptance and opportunity. And harsh winters and hot summers make life as a refugee even more difficult. Please pray for all those who have been affected by this horrific humanitarian crisis.

28 Nov to 2 Dec wisdom for those involved in the post assessment conference interviews

29 those implementing the substantial and long-needed overhaul of many IT services at Church House, which will reach a moment of significant change very soon

30 those shortlisting today for the role of South West Synod Development and Support Officer

30 Nov to 1 Dec the Northerly Synods meeting regarding continuing collaboration held at the Windermere Centre
